This week we’ve been working on a better bedtime routine. Amelia has
gotten in the habit of waking up at 3 am and then staying up….It has
definitely been making for a tired momma. Amelia loves baths, so we’ve
been trying to fit one in before bedtime…she is big fan of the bubble
We went to the corn maze this weekend. Amelia was excited about ponies and chickens, and less excited about pumpkins. I rode a cow train with her, which was basically barrels pulled by a tractor (there’s a video on Instagram). Sadly they were out of corn, which was weird.
What did you do this weekend?
This weekend we took Amelia to a pumpkin patch….she hated it! It may have been a combination of the outfit she was wearing was too hot, and it was too close to nap time. We sat her down by a big pumpkin and she cried, but she liked the tiny pumpkins she could hold. There wasn’t a single smile from her in any picture.
This weekend we have plans to go to the corn maze with friends. I’m hoping we can get around early enough for her to enjoy it. There will be pumpkins, a small petting zoo, and hay rides. I can’t wait to eat some grilled corn!
Have you ever been to a corn maze? I mostly go for the food…
Amelia is a sassy girl with a super funny personality. She has started walking more, but not consistently. She enjoys talking, especially to her dad. I think she’s telling him about her day when he’s at work. She also likes to think she’s picking things up and eating them, like light and freckles. It’s hilarious. I can’t believe she’s going to be 10 months old in a couple weeks! Stay tuned for lots of fall fun with Amelia. I can’t wait to share my favorite time of the year with her!
Yesterday we went grocery shopping and just had to take pictures in front of all the pumpkins. Amelia got a little pumpkin that met an unfortunate end in produce, by the potatoes.
We tend to buy our pumpkins a little later in October for two reasons: 1. Neighborhood hooligans like to steal them out of our yard. 2. I want to get to carving, and they get all gross before Halloween. A few years ago, we had an awesome Halloween party where we all dressed up and carved pumpkins, that would be fun to do again this year.
I can’t wait to take Amelia to the pumpkin patch and the corn maze. I’m thinking for Halloween she might be Lucy Ladybird, from her favorite bedtime story. I already have a cute ladybug costume, I would just need to add some colored spots.
Amelia had a cute play date with baby Lucy today. They were just too cute!
What are you going to carve into your pumpkin? I’ll provably do Hello Kitty like I do every year.
I am by no means a scrapbooker. Sure I’ve bought more scrapbooking paraphernalia than a non scrapbooker needs, almost to point to being an official hoarder. I want to be a scrapbooker, but I get bored with it and the mess. For some reason, I can’t stop buying cute scrapbooking paper and stickers…
Clint and I have been married for 3 years and I’ve only finished a few pages in our wedding scrapbook….
I designed and pieced together our wedding invitation. We were going for a French country theme. We had our wedding in a meadow with the Amelie’ soundtrack being played by an accordion and fiddle player. It turned out pretty awesome, and went by in such a blur!
I even have pictures printed! I just sorta gave up. Scrapbooking makes my head hurt with trying to find the perfect layout and then there’s the whole not an undo button thing…
I did manage to make some mini albums that I gave away as gifts to Clint’s mom and Aunt Jenny for all their help with the wedding prep.
They were made out of Starbucks coffee coozies. I enjoyed making them more, probably because they were on a smaller scale that it made it easier to complete.
Are you a scrapbooker? Have you tried scrapbooking? Tell me your secrets on how you complete a whole scrapbook!
PS Photos of my wedding were taken by the very talented Brooke Dove. The few photos the day before the wedding were taken by my awesome friend Teresa!
This photo was taken yesterday. Poor Amelia has been under the weather the past few days, but is feeling much better today. I found that huge Pinkie Pie at Hobby Lobby. She lit up when I gave it to her, totally worth the $15 for a stuffed animal.
She’s been pretty much getting into everything, and is a very smart cookie. She figured out she can move things, like chairs or laundry baskets, and climb on top of them to reach things she wants. She also likes to help me fold laundry, which means she grabs and throws the clothes I’ve already folded. Her and Loki have been getting along, even though she is constantly trying to pull his tail or take his collar off. He has been very sweet and gives her lots of puppy kisses. I can’t believe she is already 9 months old! It’s crazy how time flies…..
